Pack My Bags: Spain
I’m hosting my first women’s group climbing trip which is bringing me to Cuenca, Spain! If you’re interested in future trips, you can join my group trip channel on my Instagram profile. 2026 trips will be announced at the end of this year!
I decided to take advantage of being abroad and get in some extra climbing. That means bringing some of my climbing gear and everything I need to feel comfortable traveling internationally for the next month.
Packing for something like this can be tough, so I wanted to share what bags I’m bringing and what’s inside, hopefully it helps anyone planning a similar trip or wondering what’s actually possible to pack.
For this trip, REI supported me with gear (thank you, REI!). I’ll be using the REI Traverse 60L Pack, which I’m already loving. It’s supportive, comfortable, and super versatile, great for international travel and mountain adventures. I especially love the dual access points (from the top and center) and the detachable brain that converts into a daypack. Tons of pockets for snacks, passport, and essentials, plus external straps for extra storage.
I’m also using the NEMO 55L Haul Duffel, where I’ve packed all my climbing gear. It’s incredibly functional with smart internal organization and can be carried as a tote, haul bag, or backpack. These two bags pair perfectly together.
Here’s what’s in my packs:

PRO TIP: Pack a small cosmetic bag with easy access in the brain or personal item to refresh between flights/ destinations, makes you feel way better throughout long days.
PRO PRO TIP: DRINK TONS OF WATER.
Water vessels; Corcikle Bottle & Nalgene
Supplements; SEED probiotic/prebiotic, Physvantage Creatine & Greens, and electrolyes!
I have been on the move a lot and seriously swear by keeping some sort of routine in all places mine has been having a morning drink; greens & electrolytes with a probiotic.
I pack my important items, like camera gear, passport, wallet, and two of my go-to outfits, in my carry-on and personal item (I’m using the Traverse Pack for that) and check the duffel. If something happens to your checked bag, you want to feel comfortable with what you still have!
In my case, my climbing gear goes in the checked bag since I can always find people to climb with if it gets lost. The key is to keep what you actually need day to day with you during travel.
If you use any of my packing tips or find my advice helpful, consider purchasing through my links, I earn a small commission, and it’s a great way to support my content.
Safe travels and see you in Spain! <3
PRO PRO PRO TIP: Bring the HEST seat cushion or pillow, it makes flying so much more bearable and pretty much anywhere a comfy seat.
